Scientific Name:
Stevia Rebaudiana Bertoni

Stevia Rebaudiana is an herb in the Chrysanthemum family which grows wild as a small shrub and is native to Brazil  and Paraguay. The glycosides in its leaves, including up to 10% Stevioside, account for its sweetness. The leaves contains Stevioside and RebaudiosideA, substances that is 300 times sweeter than table sugar, without no calories and is not broken down by heat.

Sugar plant History :

These leaves are used to sweeten native beverages since Pre-Columbian times. In 1887, Scientist Antonio Bertoni first recorded its usage by native tribes. Stevia leaves have been used by Guarani Indians in Paraguay as a soothing tonic for stomach ailments

Sugar Plant Now:

Around 60% of the sweeteners in the market in Japan, China are products from Stevia. Stevia occurs naturally, requiring no patent to produce it. Stevia and Stevioside approved as food additive and sweetener in many countries including Malaysia, Japan, Korea, China, Taiwan, Russia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Latin America, Australia, New Zealand, USA, Canada and India.
